In the charming town of Mebane, North Carolina, I continued to bring my artistic flair to the community. From the festive holiday window paintings to the lively face painting events, I found creative ways to infuse Mebane with color and joy. As I pursue a business education at NC State University, I have remained deeply connected to Mebane's roots, drawing inspiration from the small-town charm that shaped my upbringing. My passion for art and commitment to inclusivity became a driving force in fostering connections among Mebane's heart, such as small businesses. The face painting events, in particular, became a signature aspect of my community involvement, at elementary schools and kid’s birthday parties. Through my dedication to art and community, I am hoping to leave a creative mark on Mebane, creating a bridge between my business studies and my love for painting. In a town where tradition and creativity coexisted, my colorful contributions became a symbol of unity, reminding everyone that art had the power to bring people together, one brushstroke at a time. My project quickly gained momentum, with businesses eagerly welcoming my creative touch. Each window became my canvas, telling a unique story that reflected both the holiday spirit and the personality of the small businesses. From yummy restaurants to bustling boutiques, my paintings added a touch of magic to Mebane's so thought irrelevant windows.
Growing up I loved art and everything it brought with it. Art became centered in my life as I got older, which produced my interest in business. I was involved with many volunteering Societies, that needed my artwork's attention. In high school I was apart of National Art Honor Society, where I learned to be confident in my artwork. I developed a love for face paintings for elementary schools, window painting, and even painting gifts for others. I have many other fun interests with my art, as painting signs and decorating cakes! I have always been the friend to ask for art help or been the daughter to help with crafting!
I have been painting downtown for about 2 years now and have been face painting for 4. I have made smiles happen representing each and every customer or business. I have created many paintings for families and friends for gifts. I have also decorated cakes for parties and birthdays. Since I have so many fun artistic hobbies, painting windows is my main thing and true source of representation of my work.
Decorating my hometown with my love for art is my vision. Celebrating the fact that holidays are supposed to be fun and exciting is just another reason to pick up my paint brush. My vision is to decorate as many windows as I can to bring unity between all of these businesses. Decorating windows may be silly but have you ever seen someones face light up when they see their favorite shop decorated and "in the spirit?" That. That is what I shoot for... changing one person at a time with one painting at a time.
